Jim has been a practicing physiotherapist for more than 33 years. During that time Jim has been one of the true leaders in our profession, bringing clinical expertise, communication and an in-depth awareness of how to successfully navigate the therapeutic experience.
Having originally graduated from Western in 1991, Jim has gone on to complete an MClSc (MT) at UWO in 2010, a Post Professional Doctorate in MSK Management from EIM in 2013, and a wealth of other continuing education curriculums. Jim has also been an accredited Mulligan Concept instructor since 2007, and is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapists (FCAMPT).
A few other professional facts about Jim are that until its recent sale, he was an 18-year owner/partner at one of London Ontario’s most respected orthopaedic private practices: Body Mechanics Physiotherapy.
He has also been a leader as the national director of clinical training and development for rehabilitation with CBI Health and is a lecturer at Western University in the MClScPT program. Moreover, Jim has sat as the past vice chair of the Leadership Division of the CPA and has been a repeated presenter for symposia both provincially and nationally.
On a personal note, Jim has a creative side which inspired him to release his first book of poetry in 2022 called “Cuoreosity: The heArt of Being”. He’s looking to release his second book of poetry/prose in 2026.

Having faced numerous injuries himself, he developed a strong desire to help others—especially athletes of all skill levels—stay active and play pain-free. His approach to massage therapy combines therapeutic techniques designed to relieve tension, enhance mobility, and optimize physical performance, whether for competitive athletes or individuals simply looking to maintain an active, pain-free lifestyle.

Kathy is an experienced and well-versed physiotherapist with more than 30 years of experience as a health care clinician. She is originally from London Ontario and graduated from Western University before setting off to live and practice in several different corners of the country, most notably Alberta and British Columbia.
In addition to her clinical experience, Kathy has a focus on hands-on manual therapy that includes certification in sport rehabilitation, Gunn IMS (dry needling) and acupuncture through the Canadian Acupuncture Foundation.
Kathy has also expander her skill set but completing an education in Osteopathy and when working within that scope Kathy is able to offer unique treatments such as craniosacral therapy, visceral manipulation and TMJ (Jaw Joint) treatments.
Kathy has worked in a variety of settings and treated the gamut of conditions. With her unique combination of skills and extensive training, Kathy has the ability to work with just about anyone, but she find the most satisfaction troubleshoot with patients who have “tried everything”.

Yet, in-spite of those obstacles, Kathy pushed onward to become a competitive triathlete, an adventure racer, a mountain bike racer, and a kayaker. Dr. Derek Nash is a talented chiropractor that brings a diverse skillset and background to the table.
Introduced as “Derek” in the office and “Dr. Nash” in writing, he has an amazing ability to communicate complicated body processes with patients. Dr. Nash is all about empowering patients to not just feel better but truly understand both their condition and how to manage it. Dr. Nash obtained his Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics from the University of Guelph and completed his Doctor of Chiropractic education at the New York Chiropractic College. While at NYCC he completed clinical internships with a division 1-3 college athletics program working with a variety of athletes competing in football, hockey, volleyball, baseball and wrestling. He also completed rotations through the United States Veterans Administration Hospital System where he treated a variety of complex spine injuries.
Derek brings a wealth of experience to Pro Function. He practiced in a Guelph, Ontario chiropractic clinic for six years and spent two years at the University of Guelph Health and Performance Centre where he was a Chiropractor for the Track and Field team. He is currently the team chiropractor for the Strathroy Rockets Junior “B” hockey program. You’ll find him at the rink in Strathroy every Saturday night through the winter and on the golf course Saturday mornings in the summer.

Dr. Nicole Thornicroft is the co-owner of Pro Function. She is a Doctor of Chiropractic and graduated with clinical honours from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. She also holds a BSc degree (with distinction) in Health Sciences from the University of Western Ontario.
Dr. Thornicroft has completed post-graduate training in Functional Movement Rehabilitation, Athletic Rehabilitation, Kinesiotaping and Active Release Technique. She is also a certified provider of Graston Technique, Mulligan Technique, and Contemporary Medical Acupuncture from McMaster University. Heidi is bilingual, has more than 20 years of clinical experience, is a certified sports physiotherapist with an extensive history working in orthopaedic and sports medicine at the local, provincial and national level. This includes working with professional athletes, teams, and sport organizations throughout North America and Europe including the NHL, NBA, CFL, NFL, MLS, and FIFA.
