As such, we thoughtfully requests a Minimum of 24 hours notice prior to cancelling or rescheduling your appointment so that we may offer your appointment to another client in need. The results of that assessment are used to determine how technical elements of the player’s swing could be related to what their body can or cannot do. Once this screen is finished, the results are used to create a plan unique for that golfer. The plan may include fitness training, manual therapy and treatment, coaching of swing mechanics and biomechanics, nutrition, mental strategy or all of the above.

As a former varsity volleyball athlete and Registered Massage Therapist, Nate understands the physical demands of high-level sports and the importance of recovery, mobility, and injury prevention. Having faced numerous injuries himself, he developed a strong desire to help others—especially athletes of all skill levels—stay active and play pain-free. His approach to massage therapy combines therapeutic techniques designed to relieve tension, enhance mobility, and optimize physical performance, whether for competitive athletes or individuals simply looking to maintain an active, pain-free lifestyle.

Nate’s knowledge stems from a Kinesiology degree from the University of Toronto, post-graduate studies at George Brown College, and graduating with President’s Honours from the Massage Therapy program at Fanshawe College. His comprehensive education and experience enable him to address clients’ needs holistically, creating personalized treatment plans that support long-term wellness and support clients where they’re at in each appointment.

Through a variety of life experiences, including a love for travel, sports, and connecting with people from all walks of life, Nate brings a compassionate, client-centered approach to his practice. Dr. Derek Nash is a talented chiropractor that brings a diverse skillset and background to the table.

Introduced as “Derek” in the office and “Dr. Nash” in writing, he has an amazing ability to communicate complicated body processes with patients. Dr. Nash is all about empowering patients to not just feel better but truly understand both their condition and how to manage it. He will work with your healthcare team to provide a comprehensive game plan.

Dr. Nash obtained his Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics from the University of Guelph and completed his Doctor of Chiropractic education at the New York Chiropractic College. While at NYCC he completed clinical internships with a division 1-3 college athletics program working with a variety of athletes competing in football, hockey, volleyball, baseball and wrestling. He also completed rotations through the United States Veterans Administration Hospital System where he treated a variety of complex spine injuries.

Derek brings a wealth of experience to Pro Function. He practiced in a Guelph, Ontario chiropractic clinic for six years and spent two years at the University of Guelph Health and Performance Centre where he was a Chiropractor for the Track and Field team. He is currently the team chiropractor for the Strathroy Rockets Junior “B” hockey program. You’ll find him at the rink in Strathroy every Saturday night through the winter and on the golf course Saturday mornings in the summer.

Growing up and currently living in the Lambeth neighborhood of London, Derek has always wanted to practice back at home full time. His goal is to share his knowledge with his community and help patients achieve their performance goals no matter how big or small.

Dr. Nicole Thornicroft is the co-owner of Pro Function. She is a Doctor of Chiropractic and graduated with clinical honours from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. She also holds a BSc degree (with distinction) in Health Sciences from the University of Western Ontario.

Dr. Thornicroft has completed post-graduate training in Functional Movement Rehabilitation, Athletic Rehabilitation, Kinesiotaping and Active Release Technique. She is also a certified provider of Graston Technique, Mulligan Technique, and Contemporary Medical Acupuncture from McMaster University. She is a member of the International Society of Rehabilitation Specialists as well as the Canadian Chiropractic and Ontario Chiropractic Associations.

Dr. Thornicroft has a strong interest in functional health and performance. She integrates a variety of techniques into her treatments whether she is working on Return to Sport, Return to Work, or chronic/acute injuries.

Treatments may include Soft Tissue Mobilization (Myofascial Release and Graston Technique), Medical Acupuncture, Joint manipulation, Athletic Taping (including Kinesiotaping), Therapeutic Modalities, and custom Orthotics. Kathy is an experienced and well-versed physiotherapist with more than 30 years of experience as a health care clinician. She is originally from London Ontario and graduated from Western University before setting off to live and practice in several different corners of the country, most notably Alberta and British Columbia.

In addition to her clinical experience, Kathy has a focus on hands-on manual therapy that includes certification in sport rehabilitation, Gunn IMS (dry needling) and acupuncture through the Canadian Acupuncture Foundation.

Kathy has also expander her skill set but completing an education in Osteopathy and when working within that scope Kathy is able to offer unique treatments such as craniosacral therapy, visceral manipulation and TMJ (Jaw Joint) treatments.

Kathy has worked in a variety of settings and treated the gamut of conditions. With her unique combination of skills and extensive training, Kathy has the ability to work with just about anyone, but she find the most satisfaction troubleshoot with patients who have “tried everything”.

Another important thing to know is that Kathy prides herself on working towards each client’s unique goals, whether that means simply achieving a pain-free day or progressing elite athletes to a championship! She believes the body works as a whole unit and also believes that a collaborative approach between herself, the client, and others with the health care team is the best way to create a successful rehab experience.

Kathy isn’t just a clinician, she also know what it means to me a patient. During her time as a varsity athlete at Western, Kathy experienced multiple bouts of shin splints and even a stress fracture. Yet, in-spite of those obstacles, Kathy pushed onward to become a competitive triathlete, an adventure racer, a mountain bike racer, and a kayaker. She loves to backpack, camp and go on just about any outdoor adventure…. but most of the time now she’s simply too busy for all of that … she has young twin girls to runaround after!

Kate Johnston Weber is a versatile physiotherapist with an orthopaedic background and special clinical interest in pelvic health. A graduate of Western University’s Master of Physical Therapy program, Kate takes a holistic and individualized approach with her assessment and treatment planning, while also highly valuing participation in injury prevention. Collaborative action plans may include manual therapy, soft tissue mobilization, acupuncture, lifestyle adaptation, movement pattern training, function-specific exercise, and of course - education! Kate believes that providing the proper education is an essential piece of the rehab process to allow patients to make informed choices regarding their health. Kate has continued her own post-graduate education with courses completed in pelvic health, pregnancy-related conditions, labour and delivery, postnatal fitness, pain neuroscience, manual therapy, acupuncture, vestibular and concussion management. She has found a particular calling for supporting individuals within the perinatal period. Kate is keen on promoting appropriate exercise and activity during pregnancy, bolstering birth preparation and optimizing postnatal recovery.

An enthusiast of diversified movement, Kate enjoys playing soccer, biking, weight-lifting, yoga and chasing after her two young boys – which could be considered a sport within itself!
